Wolves Add NHL Experience with Bohonos

The Chicago Wolves have signed National Hockey League veteran center LONNY BOHONOS.

Bohonos has spent the last four seasons playing in the Swiss Elite League with Davos (2000-2004) and Zurich (2003-04). The Winnipeg native paced Davos with 45 points (19G, 26A) in 43 regular-season games and 21 points (13G, 8A) in 16 postseason games to lead the team to the league championship during the 2001-02 season.

The undrafted forward led the Swiss League with a European career-high 60 points (28G, 32A) during the 2000-01 season. Overall, he accumulated 92 goals, 100 assists and 192 points in 174 games during his overseas stint.

Previously, Bohonos spent parts of four seasons in the NHL with the Vancouver Canucks (1995-1998) and Toronto Maple Leafs (1997-1999), accruing 19 goals, 16 assists and 35 points in 83 games. Bohonos registered an NHL career-high 22 points (11G, 11A) in 36 games in 1996-97 to lead all Canucks rookies.

The 31-year-old forward has also registered 145 goals, 183 assists and 328 points in 280 American Hockey League games with the Syracuse Crunch (1994-1998) and St. John¹s Maple Leafs (1997-1999). Bohonos was named to the 1995 and 1996 AHL All-Star Teams while with Syracuse.

Bohonos began this season with the Fort Worth Brahmas of the Central Hockey League, notching two assists in two games.
