HARTFORD, September 11, 2008: Northland AEG announced today that the Hartford Wolf Pack's season-opening game, a battle with the Springfield Falcons at the XL Center Saturday, October 11th (7:00 faceoff), will be preceded by a spectacular Wolf Pack "Family Fun Fest" outside the XL Center on Trumbull St., in conjunction with the ING Hartford Marathon.

At the Family Fun Fest, fans of all ages can rock out to the sounds of a live band, get in a winter-celebration mode by watching an ice-carving demonstration, get their war paint on for the game by visiting a face-painter, and indulge in the laugh-out-loud fun of a number of different inflatables.

The Family Fun Fest will run from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, and admission to the pre-game event is free.

The Family Fun Fest will be presented in partnership with the ING Hartford Marathon, which begins and ends at Hartford's Bushnell Park earlier in the day. The Wolf Pack and the ING Hartford Marathon will be joining forces on a sneaker-recycling effort, and Pack fans and marathon runners are asked to bring their sneaker donations to the atrium of the XL Center during the Marathon Expo on Friday, October 10th, or during the Family Fun Fest and Wolf Pack opener on Saturday the 11th.

The October 11th home opener is "Everyone's a Kid Night", meaning that all fans can purchase tickets for that game at the kids' price of just $10 each. Tickets go on sale next Friday, September 19th at 10:00 AM at all Ticketmaster locations, including Macy's at the Buckland Hills Mall and at the Westfarms Mall. Tickets may also be charged by phone at (860) 525-4500, (203) 744-8100, (203) 624-0033 or (413) 733-2500, and on-line at www.hartfordwolfpack.com.
