WNBA All-Star Sabrina Ionescu Launches SI20 Foundation with Inaugural Basketball Clinic in Partnership with DREAM

New York, NY - WNBA All-Star Sabrina Ionescu announced today that she and newly-created SI20 Foundation will be partnering with DREAM, a 32-year-old community-based youth development organization and public charter school network operating in East Harlem and the Bronx. The two organizations will kick-off the partnership with a basketball clinic for DREAM Charter School student-athletes on Saturday, September 9th, 2023.

A pillar of DREAM's Grow the Whole Child model is a commitment to physical and mental wellness for the organization's 2,000+ students. Partnerships with professional sports leagues, brands and athletes has been incredibly impactful in shaping DREAM's three-decade history, and the organization is ecstatic to work with Ionescu and her foundation to continue its commitment to developing the whole child and helping all children fulfill their vision of success.

New York Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu will be kicking off her newly created SI20 Foundation with an inaugural basketball clinic for the students at DREAM on Saturday, September 9th, 2023 from 3:30pm-6:00pm at the newly opened DREAM Charter School in the Mott Haven section of the Bronx. 75 middle school students will get a once in a lifetime opportunity to train with Ionescu and the amazing coaching staff at DREAM. Ionescu will host the event and participate in the clinic by playing a knockout game with the students, followed by a personal Q&A with Ionescu and DREAM students. "I'm so excited to launch my SI20 Foundation and partner with DREAM to provide equitable access to sports by giving DREAM students an up close and personal experience to learn and grow in their basketball careers," says Ionescu. "I'm looking forward to giving them the opportunity to learn a lot from the clinic, while also being able to talk with me about their aspirations and goals as the next generation of athletes."

In addition to DREAM students and staff members, other attendees will include members from the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF), SI20's fiscal sponsor, that partners with the powerful voices and talents of those in the entertainment industry to work with public and private organizations and philanthropists committed to enabling positive social change.

The following day, the New York Liberty will host DREAM at Barclays Center for their final regular season home game where students will have the opportunity to watch warmups, enjoy the game, and join Sabrina for a special postgame visit.
