
Wizards' return home ends in victory

Bismarck, ND March 4th 2007 "" After nearly a month on the road, the Dakota Wizards returned home to the Bismarck Civic Center and also returned to their winning ways as they defeated the Bakersfield Jam 125-106.
Guard Corey Williams led all scorers with 23 points and added six rebounds and six assists in his first home game with the Wizards. Center Rod Benson, who had a game-high 11 rebounds, came through again for the Wizards scoring 12 of his 17 points in the fourth quarter.
"It's nice to be home again," said head coach Dave Joerger after the game. "Our new guys played well tonight, just being in front of our great fans was a huge energy boost for the entire team."
The Wizards, who increased their record to a Eastern Division leading 20-13, had six players in double figures with forward Darius Rice nailing 20 points, including five of seven from behind the three-point arc and forward Renaldo Major added 18 points.
The Jam, who fall to 13-25 on the season, were led in scoring off the bench by forward Scooter McFadgon with 22 points. Forward Tamar Slay chipped in 17, while guard Mateen Cleaves dished seven assists to go with his 14 points on the night.
The Wizards are at home again on Wednesday for a match up with the western division leading Idaho Stampede, While the Jam head home to face the Anaheim Arsenal on Saturday March 10th.
