Wizards Cruise Past RimRockers To Win Third Straight

BISMARCK N.D., March 14, 2007 "" The Dakota Wizards rolled by the Arkansas RimRockers in an impressive manner tonight with a 126-100 victory at the Bismarck Civic Center, moving them to 23-14 on the season and in sole possession of the top spot a tight Eastern Division.

Only trailing off the tip, the Wizards went on a 13-1 run in the first quarter and extended their advantage to a 25 point lead at the half 69-44. The Wizards, who were led off the bench by center Rod Benson (27 points, 14 rebounds and 2 blocks), continued their dominance in the second half and never looked back as the closest the RimRockers were able to pull within was 14 in the third quarter.

"Our guys came to play tonight," said head coach Dave Joerger. "Arkansas is a good team, but our guys played together all night. We played defense, hit shots, it was fun to see our guys playing well."

After struggling last night against the RimRockers, Wizards guard Corey Williams came back strong and finished with 21 points, six rebounds and five assists on the night. The Wizards frontcourt dominated again, as forwards Darius Rice nailed 19 points and Quemont Greer added 15 and 13 boards. Center Kevin Lyde recorded his second straight double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds in the victory.

The RimRockers, now 11-30 were led in scoring by guard Clay Tucker who finished with 24 points and eight assists. Center Brian Jackson had 15 points, while JR Pinnock tallied 14 for the RimRockers.

The Wizards stick around Bismarck to face the Tulsa 66ers on Sunday, March 18th at 6:00 p.m. CT. Arkansas heads back south to face the Colorado 14ers in Little Rock on Friday March 16th.
