Sporting Kansas City News Release

KANSAS CITY, MO (Friday, January 30, 2004) - Kansas City Wizards General Manager Curt Johnson announced today a major partnership with Huw Williams Soccer Camps that will combine the two companies efforts to offer professional soccer camps throughout Kansas City and Mid-America. The partnership will provide the Wizards the opportunity to reach out to more youth soccer players in the community by combining existing Wizards camp programs with the established soccer camps provided by Huw Williams and Premiership Sports. Williams, a USSF "A" licensed coach will join forces with Wizards assistant coaches Brian Bliss and Tim Mulqueen, both "A" licensed coaches at each camp and will be accompanied by Wizards players.

"This partnership makes sense on many fronts," said Johnson. "In Huw we have a partner that will be working 365 days a year to expand our programs throughout the KC metro area and Mid-America. As well, Huw has proven to be a wonderful partner in other areas of our business and is someone who will work well with our players and coaches and foster a great camp environment for players of all levels!" Some camps that will be offered include Residential camps at Avila and William Jewell Colleges, on-site camps at the Wizards Arrowhead Training Facility, various community camps and team training camps. Each camp will offer specialized Wizards coaching curriculum, featuring drills and coaching methods used by Head Coach Bob Gansler, Brian Bliss and Tim Mulqueen, an adidas® camp shirt, a ticket to a Wizards home game, a graduation ceremony at Arrowhead Stadium and the opportunity to be a part of player introductions on the field before a Wizards game.

" I am extremely excited to be associated with the Wizards," said Williams. "MLS is the pinnacle of soccer in the United States and with the increase in the number of camps that we will develop with the Wizards it will provide more opportunities for Kansas City youth players to be exposed to the finest coaching and learning environments in Mid-America."
