OSHKOSH, Wis. - The Wisconsin Herd, the NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, beat the Cleveland Charge 110-107. Wenyen Gabriel made one free throw to put the Herd up 109-107. The Charge came back on the other end only for Gabriel to have a huge block to stop the Charge from tying the game. Lindell Wigginton was sent to the free-throw line and secured the win for the Herd with one free throw.
Six Wisconsin Herd players scored above 10 points. Lindell Wigginton led the Herd with a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds. Rayjon Tucker and Jalen Lecque added 17 points each. Jemerrio Jones led the Herd with 12 rebounds.
The Cleveland Charge was led by Dylan Windler with a double-double of 26 points and 11 rebounds. RJ Nembhard Jr. added 20 points.
The teams went back-and-forth resulting in 11 lead changes and nine times tied. The Herd outscored the Charge in the paint (62-30), 2nd chance points (22-12) and fast-break points (13-9).
The Herd had three turnovers to start the fourth quarter leading to two points for the Charge. The Charge came back to lead the game 95-94 with 8:30 left in the fourth quarter. Jemerrio Jones had a put-back to tie the game, 98-98. Rayjon Tucker had a steal and then a big dunk to put the Herd up 100-98 with 5:45 left in the fourth quarter. The Charge answered bringing the score to a tie 104-104 with 3:45 left in the fourth. The Herd led 108-107 with 30 seconds left. Wenyen Gabriel made one of two free throws to put the Herd up 109-107 with 20 seconds left. Wenyen Gabriel had a block to stop the Charge's chance of tying it up. Lindell Wigginton went one of two for free throws to secure the win 110-107.
The Cleveland Charge came out strong and led the entire first quarter with no lead changes. The Charge had their biggest lead of the game with 13 points. The Herd ran into foul trouble with Rayjon Tucker receiving three fouls in the first quarter. Lindell Wigginton led the Herd with seven points.
In the 2nd quarter, the Cleveland Charge led the Herd until Wenyen Gabriel scored to tie the game 36-36, the first tie of the game. The Cleveland Charge scored two points, but Jalen Lecque answered with a three to put the Herd up 39-38 with 7:25 left in the 2nd quarter. The teams continued trading baskets, resulting in five lead changes and three times tied. Wenyen Gabriel stole the ball and had a massive dunk to put the Herd up 54-50 with three minutes left in the 2nd quarter. The Herd kept the charge to four points in the last three minutes to lead at the half 62-54. Jalen Lecque led the Herd with 13 points.
The Cleveland Charge answered in the third quarter with a 28-20 run to tie the game again at 82-82 with less than two minutes left in the quarter. The Herd gained the lead back and held on until the end of the third quarter 87-84. The Herd had six turnovers in the third quarter resulting in five points for the Charge. Lindell Wigginton and Jalen Lecque led with 15 points. Javin DeLaurier scored seven of his 12 points in the third quarter.
The Wisconsin Herd will play again Monday night against the Iowa Wolves with tip-off set for 7:00 p.m. CST.
