Wisconsin Herd News Release
OSHKOSH, Wis. - The Wisconsin Herd, the NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, has hired Dennis Cutts, Chaisson Allen and John Little as assistant coaches. The three will work under Chase Buford, who was hired as the Herd's new head coach on July 29.
"I'm thrilled to have Dennis, Chaisson and John join the Herd as assistant coaches," Buford said. "The three of them combined bring a strong resume of coaching and playing experience across all levels of basketball to the Herd. I look forward to working with them this upcoming season and welcome them to Wisconsin."
Cutts most recently was the head coach of NCAA Division I UC Riverside, a position he held for three-and-a-half seasons from 2014-18, after serving one season as interim head coach for the Highlanders in 2013-14. In 2014-15, he was a finalist for the Joe B. Hall National Coach of the Year - an annual award given to the top first-year coach in Division I basketball.
Prior to being head coach, Cutts, who has more than 25 years of coaching experience at the Division I level, was an assistant coach with UC Riverside for six seasons. He's also held positions at Kansas State, San Jose State, Northern Arizona, Stephen F. Austin, Northland Pioneer College and Pima Community College throughout his career.
Allen comes to the Herd after spending the 2018-19 season as an assistant coach and manager of player development with the G League's Capital City Go-Go. In his role, he organized and ran the player development of four players who were called up to the NBA, while the Go-Go finished its inaugural season 25-25.
Before joining the Go-Go, Allen spent two years with the University of Miami (FL) in a player development role. Prior to that, Allen played professionally in Poland, Greece, Croatia, Turkey and Israel after finishing his collegiate career at Northeastern where he was a two-time First Team All-Conference selection.
Little joins the Herd after serving as a video coordinator for the past two seasons at his alma mater, Northern Iowa. He returned to Northern Iowa after playing professionally in Germany for 10 years. Little also served as a graduate assistant with the Panthers after graduating from Northern Iowa.
The Wisconsin Herd open the 2019-20 season in downtown Oshkosh on Friday, November 8th at Menominee Nation Arena against the Windy City Bulls, NBA G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls. Season Ticket and Group Packages are on sale now by calling the Herd front office at 920.233.HERD.
