Winterhawks Legend Ty Rattie Signs One-Year Contract in Sweden

Portland, Ore. - The next step in the career of former Winterhawk Ty Rattie was announced this week, as Timrå IK of the SHL shared that they've signed the forward to a one-year contract.

Rattie, who became a legend in Portland from 2008-2013, totaled 348 points in 269 games over the course of five seasons in the Rose City. To this day, Rattie ranks first among all Winterhawks in playoff goals (50) and points (95), accumulating those record-setting numbers in just 76 playoff games.

Last season, the former WHL Champion & Playoffs MVP (2013) played for Ässät of Finland's top league, posting 16 points in 28 games.

The upcoming 2021-22 season will be the ninth of Rattie's professional career. The first six seasons of his post-WHL journey came on NHL contracts with St. Louis (2013-17), Carolina (2017) and Edmonton (2017-19) before heading overseas.

- The Portland Winterhawks begin their 46th season of play on October 1 and will host Seattle on October 2 for the team's home opener.
