DASH, SOX POSTPONED WEDNESDAY Due to consistent showers throughout the afternoon and the threat of continued rain during the evening, the Dash's Wednesday night game against Salem was postponed. As a result, the Dash and Red Sox will square off in a twin bill Thursday to conclude this three-game series. The Dash swept their only other doubleheader thus far this season when they cruised past Wilmington by scores of 4-2 at 5-0 on April 20 at BB&T Ballpark. Winston-Salem enters play Thursday with a four-game winning streak, which matches the longest run for the Dash this year (April 17-20).

RAVELO ROLLING Dash infielder Rangel Ravelo went 3-for-3 with three RBIs to continue the torrid start to his High-A career. In five games, Ravelo boasts an average of .625 (10-for-16) with eight RBIs and four runs scored. Following his first career promotion to Winston-Salem on May 2, Ravelo played in two games before reopening a cut on his left thumb, an injury that sent him to the disabled list for two weeks. Upon his return, Ravelo is 6-for-10 with seven RBIs. Before joining the Dash, Ravelo was hitting .226 with nine RBIs in 17 games with Low-A Kannapolis.

FARRELL HURTING THE RED SOX Jeremy Farrell, the son of Boston Red Sox manager John Farrell, had a field day against an affiliate of his father's club Tuesday. Farrell went 4-for-4 with a homer, three RBIs and three runs scored. Farrell set Dash single-game season highs in doubles (3) and extra-base hits (4). The former Pirates farmhand now has 32 RBIs, which is two RBIs shy of Myrtle Beach's Trever Adams for the CL lead.

RELIEVING RESULTS Dash relievers have not allowed an earned run in their last four games (13.2 IP). This recent run follows the bullpen's worst effort of 2013 last Thursday, when Myrtle scored eight earned runs in four innings against the Dash's 'pen.

BECK'S BAD LUCK Dash starter Chris Beck owns a 2.80 earned run average, which is the eighth-lowest mark in the Carolina League. However, Beck paces the circuit and is tied for sixth in Minor League Baseball with six losses. Beck's 2.80 ERA is lower than the marks of all but one of the 61 other minor league hurlers with five or more losses this season. Only Jorge Rondon, a reliever for Triple-A Memphis (St. Louis), has a better ERA (2.78). During Beck's eight starts, Winston has mustered only 23 runs, or 2.9 runs per game. The Dash have not surpassed the four-run mark in any of his outings in 2013.

HEISLER, MiLB-BEST STREAK ON HOLD Outfielder Adam Heisler, who owns the longest active on-base streak in Minor League Baseball, was placed on the disabled list with a knee injury, the White Sox announced Wednesday. Dating back to last season, Heisler has reached base in 41 straight games. He hurt his knee last Sunday (May 12) in Potomac and missed the following three games (May 13-15) due to that injury. After returning to the lineup from Thursday through Saturday, the injury sidelined Heisler once again on Sunday and Tuesday.

DE PINTO RETURNS Because of Heisler's injury, Joe De Pinto returns to Winston from Double-A Birmingham. The outfielder played in five games with the Barons and hit .375 (6-for-16) with two RBIs. The former USC Trojan began the campaign in Winston-Salem and hit .158 (6-for-38) in 10 games before a promotion to Double-A on April 26.

TRIP TO ZEBULON ON THE HORIZON Following Thursday's doubleheader, the Dash make the three-and-a-half hour journey to Five County Stadium for the first of three against Carolina. Including a season-opening sweep at the hands of the Mudcats in Zebulon, the Dash are just 2-4 against Carolina. However, the Muddies own the worst record in the CL at 15-30 and have dropped 14 games by one run.
