WINSTON-SALEM DASH (18-20) vs. MYRTLE BEACH PELICANS (25-14)

RHP Chris Beck (2-5, 2.25 ERA) vs. RHP Jerad Eickhoff (2-2, 4.82 ERA)

7 p.m. - BB&T Ballpark (Winston-Salem, NC)

NINE-RUN THIRD CARRIES PELICANS Myrtle Beach only scored in one inning in the middle match of this three-game set Wednesday night, but the Pelicans made it count in a 9-2 victory at BB&T Ballpark. In the top of the third, the Pelicans sent 13 men to the plate and scored nine runs on nine hits. Both Kellin Deglan and Luis Sardinas notched three-run triples during the crooked inning. Winston-Salem mustered single tallies in the seventh and ninth frames, with Grant Buckner driving in both runs. As a result, the Dash will play their third rubber game thus far in 2013 (1-1).

BB&T BALLPARK TO REACH ONE MILLION The Dash will celebrate the one millionth fan in BB&T Ballpark history tonight. Since the ballpark opened on April 13, 2010, a total of 999,555 fans have attended a Dash game at BB&T Ballpark, which means that the Dash are just 445 fans shy of the one million mark. To celebrate, the Dash will let one lucky fan play a game of chance on the field following the bottom of the seventh inning tonight. He or she will leave with one of three prizes: one million dollars, a two-year lease on a $30,000 vehicle from Flow Companies or two Dash tickets for life.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS AT BB&T BALLPARK When BB&T Ballpark surpasses the one million mark tonight, it will become the quickest facility in Advanced Class-A baseball history to reach this milestone. The Dash pace all 30 High-A franchises in attendance since 2010. Winston-Salem led the way in 2010 and 2011 before finishing second to Frederick a year ago in total attendance. Since BB&T Ballpark opened its gates, the Dash own the best home mark in full-season Minor League Baseball (143-86, .624).

UPHILL CLIMB With 32 games remaining in the first half, the Dash trail Myrtle Beach by 6.5 games in the Southern Division. A year ago, the Dash battled back from a six-game deficit after 14 games to win the second-half division championship.

PELICANS CRACK BASSITT'S PUZZLE Dash righty Chris Bassitt had not allowed a run over 23.1 innings of work in his six appearances against the Pelicans prior to Wednesday's effort. Not including this recent outing, Bassitt has twirled back-to-back seven-inning, zero-run starts against the Pelicans. He won the deciding third game of the 2012 Southern Division Championship Series against the Birds before whiffing a career-high nine on April 17 during a 2-0 Dash win on the Grand Strand.

HEISLER'S ON-BASE STREAK Dating back to last season, Winston-Salem outfielder Adam Heisler has reached base in 38 straight games, which is the second-longest current streak in Minor League Baseball. Jamal Austin of High Desert (High-A, Seattle) has reached safely in 46 straight contests dating back to late last season. Heisler was a late scratch from Wednesday's contest, which was the third in a row that he did not play. He is day-to-day with an undisclosed injury.

MORE ON THE STREAK Heisler reached in his final three games of 2012 while with rookie-level Great Falls before finding his way on base in all 35 games this year (19 with Low-A Kannapolis and 16 with Winston-Salem). Heisler has hit safely in 29 of these 38 games, during which he owns a .299 average (44-for-147) with 16 RBIs and 27 runs scored.

THIS ISN'T HOCKEY When Max Peterson tossed a pair of scoreless innings Tuesday to preserve a three-run victory, the Dash earned their first save since Cody Winiarski notched one at Wilmington on April 28. Despite this 13-game drought, the Dash still pace the circuit with 12 saves. In its first 23 games, Winston-Salem played in a league-leading 13 one- or two-run games (57%). Since then, however, only three of the Dash's last 15 games have been decided by two runs or less (17%). Overall this season, Winston is 4-3 in one-run contests but just 3-6 in two-run affairs.
