
Winnipeg ICE Forward Connor McClennon Named to Canada's Roster for 2019 Hlinka Gretzky Cup

Winnipeg, MB - Winnipeg ICE 2002-born forward Connor McClennon will represent Canada at the 2019 Hlinka Gretzky Cup in Breclav, Czech Republic and Piestany, Slovakia from August 5-10.
Hockey Canada announced the roster for Canada's National Men's Summer Under-18 Team on Tuesday following a five-day selection camp in Calgary.
During his rookie campaign with the ICE last season, McClennon, from Wainwright, Alberta, registered 14 goals and added 15 assists for 29 points in 46 regular season games. In addition, McClennon was a member of Team Canada White at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, scoring eight goals and 11 points in five tournament games. McClennon led all players in goals and points and was named to the tournament all-star team.
Team Canada's 2019 Hlinka Gretzky Cup roster will consist of two goaltenders, seven defencemen and 13 forwards.
McClennon and his teammates will play a pre-tournament game against Slovakia on Saturday, August 3. Canada opens its tournament schedule against Finland on Monday, August 5.
Canada as won gold 22 times in 28 years at the competition.
