WINNIPEG, MB. - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today begin school programming in Northern Manitoba, visiting students at Joseph H. Kerr School during the 44th Frontier Divisional Games in Snow Lake over the next two days.
This community outreach is the second phase of a partnership with Perimeter Aviation and Exchange Income Corporation that brought 50 youth and members of First Nations communities to each Bomber home game last season.
"The Blue Bombers are Manitoba's team and we are committed to community outreach beyond the perimeter," said Wade Miller, President & CEO of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. "We thank our partner, Exchange Income Corporation, for making this visit to Snow Lake possible."
Linebacker Thomas Miles and offensive lineman Matthias Goossen will deliver Break the Silence on Violence Against Women and Bombers Tackle Bullying presentations in partnership with Manitoba Status of Women and the Canadian Red Cross' Beyond the Hurt program.
In addition to presenting to school assemblies, the Bombers will be participating in community-led outdoor activities with the students. More than 30 schools from six divisions are attending the games, including several First Nations communities that attended Bomber games last year.
