The Wings split the weekend series with the Roadrunners, but more importantly were able to build on team chemistry on the long trip down South. " It was a great learning experience for us this past weekend. We did a lot of good things on the ice and we also have a lot of things to learn yet. I loved the energy and passion in our game on Saturday. We will look to build from that. We're about where I thought we would be at this point. We have a long ways to go and a lot of improving to do yet, however it was a good start and I look forward to improving the next few weeks in practice." Coach Winter.

The Wings hit the road again last Friday to face off against in state rivals the Brookings Blizzard. In their final pre-season contest. The Wings were able to get a come from behind victory over the Blizzard 3-2. "We had a good effort from a lot of players. We stayed true to our game plan and the process and were rewarded for that in the end. We hung in there and played 60 good minutes of hockey. We have a lot to learn and a long ways to go yet but we got better this week and that is always our main focus."
