Aberdeen Wings News Release
Weekend Recap
The Aberdeen Wings once again used defense, goaltending and timely scoring to continue their winning ways. With two victories this past weekend over the Coulee Region Chill the Wings made it 8 straight. Friday night the Wings jumped out to an early lead when Erik Baskin got things going just 44 seconds into the 1st period. Assisting Baskin would be Kyle Haak and Jonathan Grebosky. Coulee would score midway through the 1st to tie things up going into the locker room. After that it was all Aberdeen as Justin Parizek was able to net a power play goal at the 17:44 mark of the 2nd with assists going to Colton Kramer and Jordan Heller. The 3rd would belong to Baskin as he added his second and third goals of the night to complete the hat trick. Assisting on the goals were Grebosky, Dylan Dailey and Haak. Chad Catt provided the Wings with another strong effort in goal stopping 24 of the 25 shots he faced in the Wings 4-1 win.
Saturday was a different day with a very similar ending. This time the Chill would jump out on top scoring at the 13:29 marker of the 1st. Kyle Haak would answer a few minutes later to tie the game on a power play goal heading into the 1st intermission. Assisting on the Haak goal were Grebosky and Dailey. Heading into the 2nd period is when Erik Baskin decided to once again take over control of the game. He scored his first goal at the 15:54 mark of the period with assists going to Grebosky and Dailey, and was able to get his second at the 19:54 mark to give the Wings a 2 goal cushion heading to the 3rd. Assisting Baskin were Patrick Steinhauser and Liam McGing. In the 3rd Jonathan Grebosky would add one more insurance goal with Haak and Dailey getting the assists. That would prove to be more then enough as once again the Wings were given a solid performance in goal from Zach Nagelvoort, who made 35 saves on 36 shots. For their efforts the NAHL recognized Erik Baskin as Central Division Star of the Week and Kyle Haak as Honorable Mention. During the weekend Wings Captain Justin Parizek donated his Top Prospects Jersey to a silent auction to benefit the Northeast South Dakota Red Cross. Thanks to Justin and the greatest fans in junior hockey he was able to raise over$1,600 for the Red Cross. Justin's billet mother is the head of the Northeast SD Red Cross Chapter.
