POST GAME QUOTES
HEAD COACH LATRICIA TRAMMEL
On if she would label this a successful season at this point...
"I'm going to say it again, winning doesn't suck. And what we've accomplished since day one with the new staff, predominantly a new team with only three returning players from last season, being in the top five both at this time offensively and defensively. Seeing great milestones from individuals that's in turn helping our team. And then what we're doing in the community as well and using our platforms in a positive way, it's bigger than basketball. So, I'm definitely proud of each and every player, but we've got a lot of basketball left, so we've got to continue to stay locked in and go game by game."
On who the Dallas Wings are...
"A team to be reckoned with."
On how important it was to get a win after the loss to Vegas...
"You know, every win matters. If we won against Vegas, it still would have mattered. But I do want to say that tonight Arike [Ogunbowale] became the franchise leader in three pointers made, 341 which is incredible. Satou [Sabally] reached her 1,000th career point. Definitely going to give her the game ball for that. And then T [Teaira McCowan], she surpassed 1,500 career points. And so, I wanted to definitely mention those three because they had a heck of a game, and even Tasha [Natasha Howard], she may not have showed it on the point wise, but she led us in rebounding with 12 and four offensive boards. And let's not forget our bench. Our bench came in locked in, Got to give a shout out to Maddy [Siegrist], O [Odyssey Sims], Kalani [Brown], V [Veronica Burton] and of course K [Awak Kuier] before she went down. So it was definitely A-Team effort."
On if she has an update on Awak Kuier...
"I don't. I'm excited to go talk to her, Allison [Russell, Head Athletic Trainer] and see what's going on there."
On the team's work in the community...
"I think it's everything. And just celebrating individual groups and individual people that are at our games, I think is really important. You just saw that we started a Nancy Lieberman Inspiring Women Award, which is really special in our community. And so that's just naming a few of what we're doing in within our organization. Our Community means a lot to us because you've seen our games and you see those fans in the stands and the individuals and groups that are supporting us. So the least that we could do is to give back to them."
