Wings Tender Feduolov
January 5, 2016 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Aberdeen Wings News Release
The Aberdeen Wings, proud members of the North American Hockey League, are pleased to announce the signing of 1998 born forward Gueorgui Feduolov to a tender agreement for the 2016-2017 season. Feduolov becomes the sixth player signed by the Wings in preparation for next season.
The Concord, OH native checks in at 5'8, 185 lbs and is presently enjoying a solid 15-16 campaign with Little Caesars U18 in the High Performance Hockey League. His 8 goals through 17 regular season games tie him for the team lead. He sits fourth overall in league scoring.
"Gueorgui is a talented forward who is quick in the hands and in the mind," Assistant Coach / Director of Scouting Mike Grattan said. "He thrives on making plays and also brings a level of competitiveness and jam we like to see in our players."
The tender process is a way for member clubs to gain exclusive rights to players for the following season. NAHL teams are given ten tender contracts on November 1 of each season. Three of the ten must be used within the NAHL's partner leagues, the NAPHL and the NA3HL. The Wings are operating with more than the standard ten this season after acquiring additional tenders as part of trades that were made during the 2014-2015 season.
"The tender route provides Mike and our scouting staff the opportunity to recruit players with character and talent who fit our mold," Head Coach / Director of Hockey Operations Francis Anzalone said. "We then get the opportunity as a coaching staff to 'home grow' these players right from the start, with the hope of moving every one of them onto college hockey. Tendering is not as simple and walking into a rink and hand picking a player. It's a process, one that involves a great deal of dialogue and research that goes far beyond the ice. We look forward to continuing to better our program through the tender process as we head into the second half of the season."
