Aberdeen Wings News Release
Central Division Semi-Finals, Game 2: Austin 2 @ Aberdeen 6 (Aberdeen leads series, 2-0) - Brad Belisle and Stepan Pokorny each had a goal and an assist as the Wings posted a 6-2 win in Game 2 of the series, taking a 2-0 lead over the Bruins. The game was put out of reach early as the Wings scored four goals in the 1st period as Belisle, Pokorny, Jonathan Bendorf, and Nic Sicoly all lit the lamp. Austin would respond to make it a 4-2 game with two 2nd period goals from Jared Christi and Kyle Herbster, but two late empty-net goals in the 3rd period from Colton Huard and Connor Beatty secured the four-goal win for the Wings. Aberdeen goalie Matt Vernon made 24 saves in the win, while Kyle McClellan made 30 saves in the loss.
The Wings have a chance to close out the series next Friday night in Austin, MN at Riverside Arena. With a 2-0 best of 5 series lead the Wings are guaranteed a minimum of 1 more home game at the Odde. More information on that will be put out once we know. In the other series in the Central division the Minot Minotauros lead 2-0 over the Bismarck Bobcats.
