It's The Season Of Giving, And Warming Hearts

Members of the Aberdeen Wings, a proud franchise of the North American Hockey League along with their billet families participated in helping stock local food pantries.

Wednesday, six members joined together at a local grocery store to gather non-perishable food items to be donated to a local food pantry. Billet families allotted each player to gather $25 each worth of food items. Those in attendance were:

#9 Andrew Noel (D-Houston, TX)

#11 Victor Ostling (F-Stockholm, Sweden)

#13 Michael Soucier (F-Caledon, Ontario)

#14 Collin Hughes (F-Lino Lakes, MN)

#29 Matt Sherman (D-White Lake, MI)

#35 Andrew Shortridge (G-Eagle River, AK)

Together, the teammates went isle by isle gathering with the thoughts of family in need on their minds. As each item was scanned, the team anxiously awaited to see how close to going over $150 they were, ending with a final total of $148.74. The total number of items donated was exactly 100.

"I feel really good about what we did today," said Wings defenseman Andrew Noel. "We have very thoughtful billet families and we love being able to help our community."

This Saturday, the Aberdeen Wings host the Brookings Blizzard at the Odde Ice Center. Fans that donate a non-perishable food item at the gate will receive $1 off admission.
