Tomahawks and Sitting Bulls Team up for "Sled Hockey Charity Showcase"

Johnstown, Pa. - The Johnstown Tomahawks, in conjunction with the Johnstown Sitting Bulls Sled Hockey Team, will introduce the first annual Sled Hockey Charity Showcase prior to their game on Saturday, November 29 at the Cambria County War Memorial.

Prior to the Tomahawks Saturday night game against the visiting Janesville Jets, the Sitting Bulls will take on members of the Pennsylvania National Guard 1-104th Aviation Reconasaince Battalion in a charity sled hockey game. The charity exhibition begins at 4:30 p.m., with the Tomahawks game following at 7:00 p.m. Fans can attend both games with their regular Tomahawks game ticket.

Sled hockey is a variation of ice hockey, in which players with disabilities compete on specially designed sleds and use a pair of sticks to both propel themselves along the ice and to move the puck. With a few exceptions, the game follows standard ice hockey rules.

In addition to the games, the Sitting Bulls will host a basket raffle during the Tomahawks game, during which fans can purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win a wide variety of items, including spoprts memorabilia from the Tomahawks, Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Pirates, Pittsburgh Penguins, and more.
