
Wings Offense Explodes for 9-1 Exhibition Win over Bismarck

The Aberdeen Wings used a balanced team game to skate away with a dominate 9-1 exhibition win over the Bismarck Bobcats Friday night at the Odde Ice Center. Clayton Cosentino got things going at the 9:30 mark of the 1st period with an assist coming from fellow vet Natan Vertes. Seamus Campbell would add to the lead just over two minutes later on an unassisted shorthanded goal. Kyle Gaffney would close out the 1st period scoring for the Wings with Aidan Curran and Marshall Walker assisting.
Bismarck would get on the board late in the 1st with an unassisted goal from Dalton Wright. The 2nd period was more of the same for the Wings. Aidan Curran would start the scoring with Nico deVita assisting. Dalton Matsui would get his first of the night at the 14:45 mark, Spencer Schneider assisted on the Matsui goal. Kyle Gaffney netted his 2nd of the night late in the 2nd with Curran getting his 2nd assist.
Aberdeen would use special teams to close out the game in the 3rd. Nathan Mann scored a power play goal at the 12:31 mark. Vertes would get his 2nd assist of the night on the goal. Matsui followed that with the Wings 2nd shorthanded goal of the game late in the 3rd with the assist coming from Schneider. Finally Thomas Manty would close out the scoring with 27 seconds remaining in the 3rd to take the 9-1 win. Assisting on the Manty goal was Cosentino. Dominik Wasik was solid in net stopping 19 of the 20 shots he faced. Aberdeen put up 51 shots on Bismarck.
