"I am proud to be a member the NLL Hall of Fame as a Philadelphia Wing," said Finneran. "I have some great memories during 10 years of playing in the Spectrum and Wells Fargo Center. I am thankful to experience this honor with my family, friends, awesome teammates, and the entire city of Philadelphia."
In order for a player to be eligible for consideration for the NLL Hall of Fame, the candidate must be retired from playing professional indoor lacrosse and shall be considered based on the individual's record, ability, integrity, sportsmanship, character, and contributions to the team and sport.
Finneran played 13 seasons with Detroit, New England, Philadelphia and Toronto.ÃÂ He is a five-time champion: four with Philadelphia (1994, 1995, 1998 & 2001) and one with Toronto (2003). He was named to the All-League First Team in 1998 and twice Second Team (1994 & 1996). He retired as the all-time league leader with 143 games played, sixth all-time in goals (235), third all-time in assists (329), fifth all-time in points (564) and 11th in loose ball recoveries (631). Finneran held the record for longest consecutive games played streak at 139 games and was the all-time leading scorer by an American prior to Casey Powell breaking his record.
Since retiring from his playing career, Finneran served as the head coach and general manager ofÃÂ Major League Lacrosse'sÃÂ Chicago Machine. As of 2020, FinneranÃÂ has returned to the Philadelphia area and is offering private training for small groups and individuals both in person and virtually.
As a member of the Hall of Fame Class of 2021, Finneran represents one of the first additions to the Hall since 2016. This year's induction will also celebrate the 15thÃÂ anniversary of the Hall's establishment with the inaugural members inducted in 2006.
