Buffalo Bandits News Release
BUFFALO, N.Y. - The National Lacrosse League today announced that former Bandits Pat McCready and Shawn Williams have been elected to the NLL Hall of Fame as part of the 15th anniversary class. The 2021 Class will be the first additions to the NLL Hall of Fame since 2016.
McCready spent eight seasons with the Bandits (2002-2009), recording 206 points (71+135) in 112 regular-season games. He ranked in the top 10 on the team in regular-season scoring in each season he played in Buffalo and led or tied for the team lead in loose ball recoveries in five of his eight seasons in Buffalo with the team. McCready ranks in the top 10 in regular-season franchise history in games played (112, 10th), assists (135, 8th) and loose ball recoveries (990, 3rd) and owns three of the top 10 individual seasons in loose ball recoveries: 2002 (173, 4th), 2004 (166, 5th) and 2006 (154, 10th).
McCready, a St. Catharines, Ontario native, totaled 27 points (6+21) in 16 career playoff games with Buffalo and was a part of the 2008 championship team. He ranks in the top 10 in playoff franchise history in games played (16, 5th) and loose balls (123, T-3rd).
Williams spent four (2000-2001, 2013-2014) of his 17 career seasons with the Bandits, totaling 231 points (99+132) in 58 regular-season games and ranking in the top five in regular-season scoring in each season he played in Buffalo. His 46 goals and 12 hat tricks during the 2001 season are the eighth-most and tied for the second-most, respectively, in a single season in franchise history.
