GAME SCORE UPDATES: Sportsticker - 1-800-367-8935

THE STAKES: The Pioneers have already clinched the top seed in the af2's Northern Conference, so they will have home field throughout the playoffs.

The BattleWings need to win and get some help along the way to have a first-round home playoff game. The Wings have much more to play for.

The Pioneers lost last week, their only loss in 2007.

LAST TIME THEY MET:

This is the first encounter between these teams.

THE IFs:

If The Battle Wings defeat the Pioneers, it would ...

- Keep the BattleWings' hopes of a home playoff game alive.

- Mean the BattleWings would have won as many games this season as in the three previous seasons combined.

- Be Scranton/WB's second loss in a row

- Give the BattleWings a 6-2 record on the road in 2007.

SERIES NOTABLES:

The quarterback matchup in this game is noteworthy.

Ryan Vena of the Pioneers and Bossier-Shreveport's Quincy Carter are among af2 leaders in many passing categories. Vena is number one in most. Two of the most reliable place-kickers in the league will go toe-to-toe.

Pioneers WR Jim Jones achieved 1,000 receiving yards last week against the Manchester Wolves. In ten games this season, Jones has 1,009 receiving yards - an average of 100.9 yards per game.

Pioneers DB Chris Royal added to his Pioneers single season record for interceptions with his 11th on the season. Along with his 11 interceptions he has 100 solo tackles, 38 pass defenses, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and three tackles for loss.

Pioneers K David Davis has converted 104 of his 111 (93.7%) PAT kick attempts. His attempts, kicks made, and percentage are all tops in the league.

Battle Wings QB Quincy Carter has a passer rating of 116.75, 57 touchdown passes, and 2,700 passing yards in only ten games this year.

Battle Wings WR Jamaal Perry has been Carter's main target this year. He has 1,170 receiving yards and 23 touchdowns so far this season. His 670 kick off return yards make him the teams leader in all purpose yardage.

Battle Wings WR P.J. Winston provides QB Carter with another reliable target. He has accumulated 1,073 receiving yards and 21 touchdowns with an average of 16 yards per catch.

FAMILIAR FACES: Former Ole Miss Wide Receiver Larry Kendrick plays for the Pioneers.
