Dallas Wings News Release
LAS VEGAS, Nevada - The Dallas Wings (14-11) fell, 104-91, to the Las Vegas Aces (23-2) at Michelob ULTRA Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday afternoon.
Teaira McCowan earned her sixth double-double of the season with 25 points and 14 rebounds, eight of which were offensive rebounds. She has eight career games with eight or more offensive rebounds, which is third most in league history, third only to Yolanda Griffith (18) and Rebekkah Brunson (13). Of the eight most recent occurrences in the WNBA that a player has had eight or more offensive rebounds, six instances have been recorded by McCowan.
Natasha Howard joined McCowan with a double-double of her own with 13 points and 11 rebounds. The Wings have had two players record a double-double in the same game 12 times this season, while no other team has completed the feat more than six times.
Satou Sabally finished with 19 points, six rebounds and three assists. Arike Ogunbowale totaled 14 points, five assists and a team leading four steals. Today represented Ogunbowale's 16th game this season with four or more assists. Off the bench, Kalani Brown recorded 10 points and four rebounds.
In the quarter that used to be deemed the Wings' Achilles heel, Dallas took full advantage of the third quarter, putting a dent in the Las Vegas lead. After trailing by 18 points with just a minute and a half to play in the quarter, the Wings took off on a 10-0 run that allowed them to cut the lead to the smallest it had been since the halfway point in the opening quarter. Ogunbowale totaled eight points in the quarter shooting 2-2 from deep. The Wings 31 points in the third quarter tied their season high for points in the quarter.
Dallas Wings Notes:
The Wings shot 46.2% from the field.
Four of the five Dallas starters recorded double figures, while Crystal Dangerfield was just a single point shy.
Dallas outscored Vegas 24-7 in second chance points and 11-9 in fast break points

POST GAME QUOTES
Head Coach Latricia Trammell
On what she saw from her team as they tried to battle back into the game...
"I think [we did battle back]. We just needed better execution. Following the game plan, that first quarter hurt us, and against a good team you can't let them get that much momentum. It's usually our big three but this time it was theirs. I'm very proud of our team to keep battling and its definitely growth in that area. Like you said, we won the third quarter by ten, but we left a lot on the table. Think about our free throws and some of those little chip shots at the basket. I think that definitely hurt us. We put them on the line 28 times, and they only missed 1, so they scored 27 points from the free throw line."
On Teaira McCowan battling against Las Vegas' A'ja Wilson...
"She continues to play well. She had 25 points, 14 rebounds, 8 [rebounds] were offensive. I think we're the best when we're playing inside-out. So, I think she did a fantastic job, and she shouldn't lay her head down because she did what she was supposed to do."
On her thoughts on the team's 15-0 run ...
"I think we settled in. We talked about that at halftime [about] sticking together, continuing to be positive with one another, but we started rebounding. Then, we start pushing the pace in transition and got out and ran and Arike started that. Getting those tunnel drives and little dishes, she struggled starting out, but she found a way to impact the game and that's what great players do."
On if we will see a duo of Teaira and Kalani at the same time in the next coming games...
"Always a possibility, but sometimes it's matchups. Along with that, it's hard to move Natasha Howard to the three, so it gets harder because we were shorthanded earlier this year and I don't want to say no because you never know what's going to happen. I think with just the matchups if we move Natasha to the three, if we start that way, at times will be difficult because I like our rotations right now being able to give Teaira an extra breath when she needs it and Kalani is doing a fantastic job. I'm not going to say no."
