Aberdeen 4 @ Chippewa 1 - Matt Vernon made 27 saves as the Wings broke open a close game with two, 3rd period goals en route to a 4-1 win in Chippewa Falls on Friday. The Wings started the scoring midway through the 1st period as Stepan Pokorny recorded a shorthanded tally to make it 1-0. The Steel had an answer late in the opening period as Tomas Vochozka scored his team's lone goal to make it 1-1. The Wings took the lead for good as Joe Strada scored in the 2nd period and Connor Beatty and Peter Morgan added goals in the 3rd period. Steel goalie Josh Langford took the loss, making 27 saves.
