Less than 24 hours removed from their 2-1 loss to the Johnstown Tomahawks (9-4, 18pts.), the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights (5-6-1, 11pts.) get set for a rematch with Johnstown for Saturday afternoon hockey at Revolution Ice Centre.

Last Night

Davis Pennington scored for Wilkes-Barre to give the Knights a lead after the opening period. Afterwards, the Tomahawks scored once in both the second and third to rally for the win. Carson Briere scored the game winning goal on a five-on-three power play 6:53 into the third.

Nail Biters

With 12 games in the books for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, we can see early on just how close the competition is in the North American Hockey League. Seven Knights' games have been decided by one goal. One of their two goal games includes an empty net, so call that what you will.

Of the seven games decided by one, the gray and blue come in at 4-3.

What's All The Fuss About

Wilkes-Barre forward Jake Fuss assisted in the Knights only goal Friday after winning a face-off back two Pennington for the point shot. Number 11 skates into Saturday's game with five points and has played in every game so far this season.

Fuss has also registered points in consecutive games for the second time this season. Last week, the Fairfield, CT native scored a last minute goal in the first period against Northeast.

A defensive minded forward, Fuss has contributed in areas the stat sheet doesn't track, such as penalty kill. The Knights are atop the NAHL East Division in that mark, and among the best half dozen teams in the league when down a man. Fuss has helped his squad kill 26 of the last 30 penalties against them.

For What It's Worth

Saturday marks the 44th all-time NAHL regular season meeting between Johnstown and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. The Tomahawks took their 31st win against the Knights on Friday.

The Knights are 5-2 in games where they score first. Their two losses in that category have come against Johnstown.

Goaltender Zach Stejskal's five game winning streak was snapped Friday, but the man in the crease continued his solid play with 31 stops. To keep the numbers updated, that means Stejskal has now stopped 239 of the last 248 shots he's faced.

Saturday marks the end of a five game home stand for Wilkes-Barre. It is one of two five game slates they'll have at Revolution Ice Centre this season. Both of which are tied for the longest home stands this year. The Knights are 2-2 through the first four games.
