January 16, 2013 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Philadelphia Wings News Release

Philadelphia Wings captain Brodie Merrill has been named Transitional Player of the Week by the National Lacrosse League (NLL) after scoring a goal and tallying two assists while retrieving a game-high 16 loose balls in the Wings' 13-8 home opening win versus the Buffalo Bandits this past Friday.

The second year Wings captain helped lead the team to their first home opening victory since 2010, just days after having his wisdom teeth removed. Despite only playing one game, Merrill's 16 loose balls recovered puts him in a tie for third most in the league.

The Wings travel to Toronto this weekend to take on the Rock at the Air Canada Centre for their first road game of the season on Saturday, January 19 at 7 p.m. Toronto's broadcast of the game will be aired locally on Comcast SportsNet.

The Wings return home to the Wells Fargo Center when they take on the Calgary Roughnecks on Sunday, January 27 at 4 p.m. Tickets for all Wings 2013 home games are available by phone at 215-389-WING or online at WingsLAX.com.
