Brookings 2 @ Aberdeen 3 - The Wings did all their scoring in the 1stperiod and got 31 saves from Peter Thome as they edged the visiting Blizzard, 3-2. Aberdeen jumped on the Blizzard quickly with three, 1stperiod goals, which came from Ryan Cook, Kevin Fitzgerald and Carter Roo. The lone Brookings goal of the 1st period came from Nick Cardelli. The Blizzard cut the lead to 3-2 early in the 2nd period with a goal from Nick Ford, but that would be as close as they would get thanks to Thome. Magnus Lindhe picked up the loss and was pulled after one period in favor of Josh Kuehmichel, who stopped all 18 shots he faced.
Aberdeen 3 @ Minot 1 - Peter Thome made 32 saves to lead the Wings to a 3-1 road win in Minot on Saturday. The Wings took a 1-0 lead with a 1stperiod power play goal from Ryan Cook. Minot responded back in the 2nd period to tie the game at 1-1 with a goal from Derek Frentz. The Wings struck back right before the period was up on a goal from Kevin Fitzgerald. Tyler Bossert would score late in the 3rd period to add an insurance goal for Aberdeen. Lucas Murray made 19 saves in the Minot loss.
