
Wingnuts and Sox Suspended Due to Storm

WICHITA, KS- Tuesday night's game between the Wichita Wingnuts and Amarillo Sox has been suspended with the score tied 4-4 after six full innings due to inclement weather.
The game will resume in the top of the seventh inning on Wednesday evening at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday's regularly scheduled game is still set for nine innings. Tickets from Tuesday night will be honored on Wednesday, and can be used for both contests.
The Wingnuts jumped on the board in the bottom of the first inning. Jake Kahaulelio reached on an infield single, stole second base, and scored on a base hit through the right side from John Rodriguez.
With the bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the second, Ryan Khoury made 2-0 on a fielder's choice groundball to shortstop that brought in Abel Nieves.
K.C. Serna cut Wichita's lead in half in the top of the third with a two-out, RBI single to shallow center.
Rodriguez beat out an infield single leading off the bottom of the third and scored three batters later when Nieves tripled to right-center.
Khoury lifted a sacrifice fly to center in the bottom of the fourth to make it 4-1 Wichita.
Joe Weik hit a two-out, three-run home run to left-center in the top of the fifth that tied the game.
Wingnuts' starter Justin Klipp allowed four earned runs on six hits over six innings. Klipp walked one and struck out three.
Sox' starter Jason Johnson also allowed four earned runs over six. Johnson gave up seven hits, walked zero, and struck out one.
Both Klipp and Johnson are officially still in the game.
The Wingnuts conclude their series against Amarillo on Wednesday night with the completion of Tuesday's supsended game. Action resumes in the top of the seventh at 6:00 p.m. The regularly scheduled nine-inning game will follow with Junior Guerra taking on left-hander Kristhiam Linares.
