Windy City Bulls Knock off Lakeland Magic, Lindsey Scores 22

January 26, 2022 - NBA G League (G League) - Windy City Bulls News Release

The Windy City Bulls, presented by BMO, the NBA G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, defeated the Lakeland Magic 98-88 at NOW Arena Tuesday night. Scottie Lindsey led the way for the Bulls, scoring 22 points - including 13 in the second half - to help fend off the Magic.

The victory was Windy City's second in as many nights. The Bulls knocked off the Capital City Go-Go 103-101 on Monday, Jan. 24 on the road.

In tonight's win, the Bulls and Magic were deadlocked at 22 after the first quarter, and the largest lead for either team was four points.

But a strong second quarter from Devon Dotson helped the Bulls take control of the game. Dotson scored 10 points in the second period - including banking in a last-second three-pointer at the end of the quarter - and Windy City took a 49-41 in the break.

The Magic's offense woke up in the third quarter, with Lakeland shooting 50% from the field. However, Windy City shot 52.4% in the period to keep pace with the Magic. Lakeland won the quarter 29-27, but the Bulls maintained a six-point advantage heading into the final 12 minutes.

Windy City came out strong at the start of the fourth, jumping out to a 12-point lead with 8:35 remaining in the game. However, a 9-2 Magic run made it a five-point game with just under five minutes left to play. But five quick points from Lindsey helped the Bulls weather the storm.

For the second night in a row, Lindsey led the Bulls in fourth-quarter scoring. After putting up 12 points in the final period on Monday, Lindsay scored seven in the fourth tonight to help the Bulls coast to a 10-point victory.

For the Bulls, Dotson finished with 20 points and nine assists. Daniel Oturu scored 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Marko Simonović came off the bench to record a 13-point and 16-rebound double-double. Also, Ethan Thompson and Kerwin Roach II each scored 10 points.

Four Magic players finished in double figures, led by BJ Johnson's 19 points and eight rebounds.

With the win, the Bulls are just a game below .500, sitting at 4-5. Meanwhile, Lakeland drops to 2-7 in the regular season.

Next on Windy City's schedule, the Bulls host the Fort Wayne Mad Ants on Saturday, Jan. 29 at NOW Arena. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on NBC Sports Chicago.
