Windy City Bulls Awarded the 2019-20 NBA G League's Promotion of the Year
The Windy City Bulls presented by BMO, NBA G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, have been selected as the winner of the 2019-20 NBA G League Promotion of the Year Award.
The award is presented each year to the G League franchise that best exemplifies the creation and execution of "a unique idea with the potential to positively impact local business and the community".
The Windy City Bulls received the award in recognition of the team's "Chuck Jones Big Draw Night" featuring Looney Tunes™, presented by ZENNI, which took place on January 4, 2020 in partnership with the Chuck Jones Center for Creativity, and benefiting the backyard experience, a local art education organization based in Schaumburg.
The event included a first for the NBA G League with both the Windy City Bulls and the visiting Westchester Knicks wearing special Looney Tunes™ themed jersey sets that were auctioned to fans of both teams. Windy City's jerseys featured a Marvin the Martian design while the Knicks donned Tasmanian Devil-themed jerseys and proceeds from the auction were donated to the backyard experience.
Upon entering the arena attendees received a commemorative Marvin the Martian and Gus T. Bull combo bobblehead doll and young fans were encouraged to complete eight art education activity stations set-up throughout the concourse by the backyard experience.
Fans also had the opportunity to take photos with Looney Tunes™ themed props and purchase unique artwork, while Looney Tunes™ characters, clips and sounds were featured throughout the game to enhance the experience for attendees.
The ZENNI-sponsored themed jerseys featured prominently throughout the night via in-game contests and during the on-court post-game autograph session with the entire Windy City Bulls team.
Looney Tunes™ themed youth replica jerseys and t-shirts were offered to fans for a donation to the backyard experience during the event.
The Windy City Bulls are proud to accept this award in collaboration with the Westchester Knicks, the Chuck Jones Center for Creativity, and the backyard experience, as it demonstrates our organization-wide commitment to create unique experiences for fans, while enriching our community.
