Wilson Falters in Cats' 8-5 Loss

July 14, 2013 - United League Baseball (ULB)
Fort Worth Cats News Release

Fort Worth Cats' starting pitcher Kyle Wilson struggled for the first time since joining the team in an 8-5 loss to the Edinburg Roadrunners on Sunday night.

Wilson had won his previous three starts since coming to Fort Worth in late June, but he gave up seven runs - four of them earned - in six innings of work in the loss.

The Roadrunners (22-27) went up 7-0 before the Cats (31-19) scored five runs in the fifth inning - three of which came on a Chris Christopoulos home run.

The loss was the third in a row for the Cats, which is a new season-high for the team.

The Cats can only secure a series split with the Roadrunners with wins on Monday and Tuesday.

After the Edinburg series concludes, Fort Worth heads home for an eight-game homestand against the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings and San Angelo Colts.

Tickets to all home games can be purchased by going online to FWCats.com or by calling (817) 332-CATS.
