Wilmington Sea Dawgs News Release
Detroit, MI- Despite a game high 41 from Brian Woodland, Detroit could not shut down Wilmington's balanced attack as the Sea Dawgs defeat the Panthers 121-104.
Wilmington took the lead for good when Kris Clark hit a three ball from the right side with 6:45 to go in the opening frame. Clark's three kicked off a 9-2 Sea Dawgs run that was capped off by a Cedric McGinnis runner in the lane.
Wilmington would run away with this one as they gear up for their playoff game against Vermont with a 17 point victory.
For Wilmington, Kris Clark and Brian Leggett led seven players in double figures with 18; Alex Harper added 16 for the Sea Dawgs who finish the regular season at 15-5.
For the Panthers, who finish the season 6-14, Walter Waters had a double double with 17 points and 16 rebounds. Leonard Hardin added another double double with ten points and ten boards.
Wilmington will be at home to take on Vermont in the play-in game of the 2008-2009 PBL playoffs. The date and time has yet to be determined. The winner of that game faces off against top seeded Battle Creek in the best of three semifinals.
