
Frost Heaves Claim Champlain Cup Title

Vermont Frost Heaves News Release
Quebec City, QBC - The Vermont Frost Heaves laid claim to the Champlain Cup Title by defeating the Quebec Kebekwa 114-84 this afternoon in Quebec City. With Quebec having a slim chance for a tie in the Champlain Cup series, Vermont won the first and second quarters as well as the first half to remove all doubt and take home the Champlain Cup.
Vermont was led in scoring by Center Larry Turner who had 26 points and 13 Rebounds. Chris Cayole had 16 points and Brian Graves added 11 for the game. John Smith contributed his second double double in a row with 10 points and 10 Rebounds.
Vermont now begins preparation for their Wild Card play in game against Wilmington on Wednesday April 1. That game is scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. tip in Wilmington, NC. The winner of the one game play in will face off against the PBL #1 seed, the Battle Creek Knights who finished their PBL regular season at 18-2.
It should be an exciting finish to what has already been a very competitive and exciting regular season. The Frost Heaves are proud to partner with the Vermont State Employees Credit Union and the Vermont Army National Guard.
