Kalamazoo Wings News Release

Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings of the United Hockey League announce that forward Tyler Willis has been named the team's captain.

Willis' appointment of team captain comes the same day defenseman Chad Allan decided to leave the team to play overseas in Europe.

For the past two seasons, no player has developed more of a fan following or the respect of his fellow players than Tyler Willis. The veteran forward's scrappy play and team first attitude has made him a leader on and off the ice.

After missing a few games to start the season, Willis has been a force on the ice. Willis has become one of the K-Wings top offensive producers.

Willis will get to wear his new captain's "C" tomorrow, as the Kalamazoo Wings start a six game road swing against the Fort Wayne Komets.

Tickets for all K-Wings home games are on sale by calling the Wings Stadium Box Office at (269) 345-5101 or by stopping by the box office during their regular business hours of 10AM-6PM Monday-Friday, or 10AM-2PM on Saturday.

For more information about the naming of Tyler Willis as team captain, please contact Mike Modugno, Director of Public Relations and Broadcaster at (269) 349-9772, extension 220.
