
Williamsport Announces 2010 Roster

Williamsport Crosscutters News Release
The Williamsport Crosscutters season opens on Friday, June 18 at Historic Bowman Field as the Cutters host the State College Spikes at 7:05pm.
The Opening Day roster features a total of 28 players including the Phillies 2nd round draft picks from both the 2009 and the 2010 draft; outfielder/first baseman Kelly Dugan (2009) and RHP Perci Garner (2010). Dugan's father, Dennis is a Hollywood director. His credits include the Adam Sandler films "Big Daddy", "Happy Gilmore", "You Don't Mess with the Zohan" and the new movie "Grown-Ups" slated to open June 25.
Additional 2010 draft picks include; OF Gauntlett Eldemire (5th round) from Ohio University, LHP Mario Hollands (10th round) from UC Santa Barbara, and RHP Craig Fritsch (16th round) from Baylor. In all, the Phillies have assigned 8 of their 50 selections to Williamsport thus far. More 2010 draft picks are expected to join the squad in the coming days.
The Cutters roster also includes five players who saw time with Williamsport in 2009 including; RHP Justin Beal, RHP Siuliman LeBron, RHP Chad Poe, C David Doss and OF Micheal Dabbs.
In addition, fourteen players on the opening day roster played together last season for the Gulf Coast League Phillies.
The Crosscutters are managed by Chris Truby who returns for his second season with Williamsport. Truby played four seasons in the majors with Houston, Montreal, Detroit and Tampa Bay. Joining Truby in the dugout is pitching coach Lance Carter who spent parts of six seasons in the majors (Kansas City, Tampa Bay, LA Dodgers) and hitting coach Jorge Velandia who appeared in a total of 174 major league games from 1997-2008 (San Diego, Oakland, NY Mets, Tampa Bay, Toronto & Cleveland).
