
Williams Named to Team WHL Roster for 2019 CIBC Canada Russia Series

(EDMONTON, AB) - The Western Hockey League has named Edmonton Oil Kings forward Josh Williams as an addition to Team WHL for the upcoming 2019 CIBC Canada Russia Series, the League announced on Tuesday.
Williams will replace injured Winnipeg ICE forward Peyton Krebs for both WHL games of the Canadian Hockey League showcase, taking place Wednesday, November 13 in Saskatoon, SK (Game 5), and Thursday, November 14 in Prince Albert, SK (Game 6).
The 18-year-old, Langley BC native is off to the best offensive start to his WHL career, registering eight goals and 11 assists for 19 points in 16 games played.
He has produced two three-point games already this season - a goal and two assist game versus the Winnipeg ICE on October 4, and a three-assist night versus his former team, the Medicine Hat Tigers, on October 25 - as part of six total multi-point games.
"Josh has enjoyed a terrific start to the season," said Oil Kings President of Hockey Operations and General Manager, Kirt Hill. "It's great to see him rewarded with the opportunity to showcase his talents on a larger stage with the top players from the WHL."
