
Williams Named Captain, Strinden and Tresca Tabbed as Alternates

MUSKEGON, Mich. - Mike Hamilton, Head Coach for the Muskegon Lumberjacks announced today that Jack Williams will serve as the team's captain for the 2021-22 season. Ben Strinden and Phil Tresca will serve as alternate captains.
"We're excited to name Jack Williams as our captain for this year," said Hamilton. "Our team chose a great person, who leads by example, to help mold our team into a family. His leadership qualities on and off the ice speak volumes."
"Phil and Ben are both returning players, known as hard-working players with a great head on their shoulders. The team couldn't have picked two better guys to help Willy lead the team."
Williams, the 5-foot-11, 170-pound forward skated in 58 games with the Lumberjacks during the 2020-21 regular season, totaling 18 goals and 20 assists for 38 points while registering 30 penalty minutes. The Biddeford, Maine native is committed to playing with the Northeastern University Huskies.
"I'm extremely honored to be named captain of the Lumberjacks," said Wiliams. "I'm excited to lead this great group of guys, represent the Lumberjacks and get the season started."
Strinden, the 6-foot-1, 193-pound forward was limited to 23 games with the Lumberjacks during the 2020-21 regular season, totaling one goal and nine assists for 10 points. The Fargo, N.D. native is committed to the University of North Dakota.
"I'm honored to be selected by the team as alternate captain," said Strinden. "I can't wait to lead by example, do my best, and try to win a Clark Cup."
Tresca, the 6-foot, 190-pound forward appeared in 44 games with the Lumberjacks during the 2020-21 regular season, totaling seven goals and two assists for nine points. The Newton, Mass. native is committed to playing for the Bulldogs at Yale University.
"It's an honor to be chosen by my teammates as a leader," said Tresca. "We have a great group of guys and I'm excited to get the season going and compete for a championship."
