
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Signs Krause & Loney

WHEELING, WV- The Wheeling Nailers, proud ECHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins, have announced that forwards Adam Krause and Ty Loney have signed American Hockey League contracts with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
Krause, 23, began his professional career at the conclusion of the 2014-15 season, joining the Nailers at the start of April. After a scoreless first game, Adam netted his first professional goal on April 4th at Kalamazoo, ultimately compiling two goals and four points in six regular season tilts. The Hermantown, MN native then appeared in seven playoff games, finishing fifth on the team with four points.
Prior to turning pro, Krause played four seasons of college hockey at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, while majoring in Finance. Adam served as the Bulldogs' team captain during his junior and senior seasons, while being chosen as the school's top male scholar-athlete in 2014-15. During his four-year collegiate career, the 6-foot-3 forward recorded 16 goals, 21 assists, 37 points, and 169 penalty minutes in 133 games.
Loney, 23, also experienced a brief stint in the pros in 2014-15, collecting two goals and four points in five games with the AHL's Norfolk Admirals, including a three-point effort in his debut. Prior to turning pro, Ty spent four years at the University of Denver, where he majored in Psychology. While with the Pioneers, the Valencia, PA native racked up 39 goals, 50 assists, 89 points, and 128 penalty minutes in 152 games.
Adam Krause and Ty Loney become the second and third players to sign with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this summer, joining veteran forward Tom Kostopoulos.
The Wheeling Nailers will start the 2015-16 season with a two-game road series against the Norfolk Admirals on October 16th and 17th, before playing their home opener on October 24th against the Brampton Beast at 7:35.
