Fort Worth Cats News Release
The Fort Worth Cats and starting pitcher Aaron Wilkerson recovered from a leadoff San Angelo Colts home run to win 8-2 on Friday night.
Colts first baseman Steve Rinaudo launched the fourth pitch of the game over the left field fence to put San Angelo (22-20) on top 1-0, but the Cats (27-15) recovered to go ahead in the bottom of the first. After that they never relinquished the lead.
Fort Worth broke the game open in the fifth, tallying five runs on four hits and three walks.
Similarly to Thursday night's starter Kyle Wilson, Wilkerson threw seven innings of one-run baseball, allowing seven hits and walking four. He also struck out eight Colts hitters to extend his strikeout lead in United League Baseball to 64 on the year.
The Cats are in action against the Colts for game three of the four-game series tomorrow night at LaGrave Field.
It will be Bark in the Park night at LaGrave as fans can bring their dogs to the stadium to enjoy the game. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
Tickets to Bark in the Park and all home games can be purchased by going to FWCats.com or by calling (817) 332-CATS.
