Wildcatters Fall in OT 4-3 to Ice Dogs

Long Beach, CA (January 10, 2004) - The Texas Wildcatters were in Long Beach for the second straight night, picking up a point in a 4-3 overtime loss to the Ice Dogs. John McNabb scored the only goal of the first period his 14th of the year on a blast from the rightwing boards. The Ice Dogs lead 1-0 on the four-on-four goal after one period of play.

McNabb would give Long Beach a two goal lead with his second of the night to start the second period. The Wildcatters would tie the game on back-to-back goals by Lucas Smital, his 11th and 12th goals of year.

Long Beach would regain the lead in the third on Ken Tasker's first goal of season. The Wildcatters responded off an offensive zone face-off as Cory Morgan pulled the puck back to Rob Guinn, who put it home for his third goal of the year.

In overtime, Alex Kim picked up a rebound to end the game with 49 seconds left in the extra session for the Ice Dogs. Mark Scally making his first start for Texas was solid in goal, finishing with 35 saves in the loss.
