Wildcatters Doubled Up Condors 4-2

Bakersfield, CA (January 11, 2004) - The Texas Wildcatters picked up their second win on their six-game West Coast road trip, 4-2 over the Bakersfield Condors. The Wildcatters improved to 2-2-1 on the trip and are unbeaten in their last three road games. Cory Morgan gave Texas a 1-0 lead in the first period as he tipped in a Clint Cabana shot from the left point for his 10th goal of the season. Jason Ralph tied the game at one with a five-hole shot on a two-on-one. Davis Parley had 13 saves in the opening period for the Wildcatters.

Texas regained the lead in the second stanza when Morgan scored his second of the game and 11th of the year. Lucas Smital extended his point streak to five games with the assist on Morgan's goal, giving the Wildcatters a 2-1 lead after two periods of play.

The Condors tied the game early in the third period as Johan Astrom's netted his team leading 15th goal of the year. The Wildcatters wasted no time regaining the lead on a double deflection by Tony Lawrence. Brad Fraser sent the puck towards the net from the rightwing boards, Rae Metz deflected the puck and Lawrence changed the direction one final time as he scored his eighth goal of the year. John Snowden would give Texas a little cushion on the power-play when he beat Condors goaltender Shane Bendera short-side for his team leading 15th goal of the season. Parley finished the game with 33 save to earn his ninth win of the year.
