The Cape Fear Wildcats and The "Weekender" will be at Buffalo Wild Wings every Sunday for AFL on NBC. There will be food and drink specials, contest and prize giveaways from the Wildcats, The "Weekender" and a chance to win free oil changes for a year, compliments of Valley Auto World. So come on out every Sunday at 3:00 to meet the Wildcats staff, players and the Bud Light promotions team.

AFL on NBC This week's televised game will be between the Dallas Desperados (2-1) and the Detroit Fury (2-1). Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones owns the Desperados, who lost last week to the Orlando Predators 50-47. The Fury held off a fourth quarter comeback to defeat the Carolina Cobras last week 49-44 at the Charlotte Coliseum.

IF YOU OR ANYONE YOU KNOW has not purchased season tickets; you can do so by calling 910.222.9453. Seats are starting to go fast and start at just $96. The Wildcats will kick off the 2003 season on April 5th at the Crown Coliseum against the Louisville Fire.

"DRIVE FOR FIVE" Join us in our effort to raise $50,000 for the Cumberland County School System. The Cape Fear Wildcats will donate $50,000 to the Cumberland County Schools if the Wildcats reach their goal to sell 5,000 season tickets.

SINGLE GAME TICKETS Wildcats single game tickets for OPENING NIGHT vs. Louisville will go on sale by the end of this month. Single game tickets will range from $12 to $30 depending on seating prefence. To purchase your single game tickets please visit www.ticketmaster.com or go to the Crown Coliseum box office. Box office hours are Monday through Saturday 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.

"FLEX PACKS" The flex package consist of 10 ticket vouchers that can be used in any number of combinations throughout the season allowing fans to choose which game or games they want to attend and how many vouchers they would like to use for each game. Fans will also have a choice of what section they would like to sit in, ranging from upper level sideline to lower level sideline. The Wildcats flex package is only $160. All ticket vouchers must be redeemed 24-hours prior to kickoff of desired game.

GROUP TICKETS ON SALE NOW! Wildcats group tickets are now on sale and are available in the upper level sideline or lower level endzone sections. Ticket prices range from $11 to $9. Call the Wildcats office to reserve your group tickets to OPENING NIGHT when the Wildcats host the Louisville Fire on April 5th.

IN THE COMMUNITY

WILDCATS 2ND ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT will be held March 31st at Baywood Golf Course. If you would like more information or would like to enter a foursome in the golf tournament please contact Nicole Barros at 222.9453.

WILDCATS TRANSACTIONS:

COCHRAN RETURNS TO WILDCATS, HIGGINS TRADED

FAYETTEVILLE, NC- The Cape Fear Wildcats have been assigned FB/LB Clenton Cochran by the af2 league office and have traded WR/LB Jeff Higgins.

Cochran, 6-foot-1, 270- pounds, played his collegiate football at Fayetteville State University where he was twice named CIAA All-Conference second team. Cochran played in nine regular season games with the Wildcats during the 2002 campaign.

In nine games with Cape Fear, he rushed for 73 yards on 21 carries and scored two touchdowns. He also recorded 16 tackles, 2.5 sacks and one fumble recovery.

Higgins, who joined the Wildcats late in the season, was traded to the Albany Conquest for future considerations. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound WR/LB played in four regular season games and three playoff games. In four regular season games, Higgins totaled 22 yards on seven carries and scored three times. He also had six receptions for 63 yards and one touchdown to go along with eight tackles. During the playoffs, he caught eight passes for 119 yards and registered 4 tackles and one sack.

TRAINING CAMP: The Wildcats will report to training camp on March 19, 2003. Thirty-five players will report to training camp for the first day and on March 24th the final roster of 21 players will be set.

News on former Cape Fear Wildcats

E.J. Burt OL/DL
Playing in the AFL for the Orlando Predators. In three games with the Predators, Burt has two tackles, two sacks; two quarterback hurries and three forced fumbles. Burt and the Predators will take on the Carolina Cobras this Friday at the Charlotte Coliseum.

Bobby Pesavento QB
Playing in the AFL for the Colorado Crush (owned by NFL Hall of Famer John Elway). Pesavento is currently backing up John Dutton who was awarded MVP of the Arena Bowl last season. Last week, Pesavento had a two-day tryout with the Buffalo Bills.

Teto Simpson OL/DL
Playing in the AFL for the Grand Rapids Rampage. Simpson was drafted in the 15th round (89th overall) by the Amsterdam Admirals (NFL Europe) on Feb. 4, 2003.

Sefa Pau'Auli OL/DL
Playing in the AFL for the Los Angeles Avengers. Pau'Auli is currently on the practice squad for the Avengers.

Eddie Miller WR/DB
Miller, a California native, was traded to the San Diego Riptide (af2) last week for future considerations. In 15 games with the Wildcats, Miller rushed for 26-yards and three touchdowns. He also had 56 receptions for 583 yards to go along with 10 touchdowns and had a total of 25 tackles.

Jeff Higgins WR/LB
Higgins was traded to the Albany Conquest (af2) last week for future considerations. He has played for four af2 teams in three years and has totaled over 1,600 total yards and 124 points in his three-year af2 career. Higgins, a New York resident, is currently teaching high school in upstate New York.

Media Relations Intern
The Cape Fear Wildcats are currently looking for intern(s) for the media relations department. Interns are expected to be available for the entire season and need to be able to work at least 20 hours a week.

Wildcats media interns will be expected to assist with any number projects including, but not limited to: writing news releases, researching statistical data for weekly notes, developing features, writing game previews/summaries, compiling press clippings and helping produce various team publications.

Wildcats media interns are given the opportunity to gain valuable hands on experience in a professional sports setting. With direct connections to nearly 50 teams (AFL and af2) across the country.

Skills needed:
AP style writing
