Saint John's, NL - Keith Yandle (14th,PP)(15th,NA,PP),Philippe Dupuis (12th)(13th,PP) and Adam Pineault (13th)(14th,PP) each scored a pair of goals to lead the Moncton Wildcats to a 7 - 2 victory over the Saint John's Fog Devils on Friday, at the Mile One Stadium, in front of a crowd of 3,879. Moncton improved their record to 26 - 10 - 0 - 2 = 54 pts to move into a first place tie in the East Division with the Acadie-Bathurst Titan (24 - 11 - 2 - 4 = 54 pts). The teams were tied 2 - 2 after the first period and Moncton led 7 - 2 after 40 minutes. Chris Morehouse (1st) and Brad Marchand (19th) rounded out the Wildcat's scoring summary. The Saint John's Fog Devils received goals from Zack Firlotte (5th,PP) and Sebastien Bernier (4th). Andrew MacDonald added four assists for the Wildcats, while Yandle had two assists, with singles coming from Dupuis, Stephane Goulet, Nick Emanuele, Tim Spencer and Jean-Philippe Chabot. The Wildcats outshot the Fog Devils 41 - 31, including 21 - 7 in the second period and 12 - 9 in the third, while Saint John's held a 15 - 8 advantage in the first period. Josh Tordjman blocked 29 of 31 shots he faced to improve his season record to 15 -17. Ilia Ejov allowed four goals on 17 shots to suffer the loss and see his record fall to 9 - 10. He was relieved by Matthew Spezza at 6:12 of the second period, who allowed four goals on 24 shots. Moncton was 4 for 8 on the powerplay, while Saint John's' went 1 for 6. The game's three stars were #1 - Keith Yandle, #2 - Andrew MacDonald and #3 - Philippe Dupuis. Saint John's remains in seventh place in the East Division with a record of 14 - 19 - 3 - 0 = 31 pts. Moncton returns to action on Tuesday, January 3rd when they travel to PEI to face the Rocket. Moncton's next home game is against the Saint John Sea Dogs on Friday, January 6th, 2006.
Media Advisory: Moncton Wildcats have re-scheduled a home-to-home series with the Acadie-Bathurst Titan, due to a scheduling conflict at the Moncton Coliseum. Moncton will now host the Acadie-Bathurst Titan on Tuesday, February 28th at 7:00 pm. Moncton will then travel to Acadie-Bathurst on Friday, March 3rd for a 7:30 pm match-up at the K.C. Irving Regional Center.
