Washington Wild Things News Release
Washington, PA - The Washington Wild Things, presented by Washington Federal Savings Bank, walked fifteen batters and had as many errors as runs on Monday night in a 10-4 loss at CONSOL Energy Park.
Brooks Dunn made his pitching debut for the Wild Things, surrendering three hits and four runs (three unearned) in four innings of work. The backbreaker came an inning later, when Sliders' first baseman Bryan Vickers' sent a Kevin Reese pitch over the scoreboard for a grand slam to give Midwest an 8-4 lead.
Washington stormed out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning, but would allow four unanswered runs over the next three innings to give Midwest the lead. Chris Sidick's RBI tied it at four just an inning before Vickers' grand slam put the game out of reach.
The Wild Things and Sliders will finish the series Tuesday at 12:00 p.m. EST before Washington hits the road for series at Traverse City and Chillicothe.
