
Wild Things Beat Grizzlies 8-3

Washington, PA -- The Washington Wild Things, presented by Washington Federal Savings Bank, beat the Gateway Grizzlies by a score of 8-3 at CONSOL Energy Park Thursday night.
Jacob Dempsey hit his sixth homerun of the season, while Chris Sidick, Tim Alberts, and Brett Grandstrand all chalked up RBI. The Wild Things' offense manufactured most of their runs in the fifth inning with Dempsey, Hoisington, Carrara, and Rochelle all scoring runs.
RHP Aaron Ledbetter had a strong performance allowing only two runs on seven hits while striking out five batters in eight innings of work. Matt Maradeo pitched the ninth inning in relief.
The Wild Things host the Evansville Otters for a three-game set beginning Friday, when first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Air time on WJPA 95.3 FM is 6:55 p.m. Fans will be treated to fireworks after the game. Tickets are available at the CONSOL Energy Park box office.
