Wild Release 2009 Schedule

December 9, 2008 - Indoor Football League (IFL)
Alaska Wild News Release

The Alaska Wild will begin the 2009 season on Monday, March 23 versus interstate rival Fairbanks. Alaska will see new teams at the Sullivan Arena for the inagaural season of the Indoor Football League. Alaska will play divisional opponents Billings and Colorado twice, and rival Fairbanks four times. The Maryland Maniacs, Bloomington Extreme, and Rochester Raiders will also visit the unfriendly confines of the Sullivan Arena, where Alaska was 5-2 in 2008, with both losses being by a combined 7 points.

The Wild will also be logging some frequent flyer miles as cross country trips to both Upper Marlboro, Maryland and Rochester, New York are slated. Changing in the travel plans will be the Wild having to stay in one location on the road, for days or weeks as they have done in the past two seasons. This means that most of the local players will be able to travel and not miss extended periods of work. Wild fans will remember the six week trip the team took to Texas in 2007, and the two week stays in Texas in 2008. The Everett Destroyers and Frisco Thunder will rejoin the league in 2010.
