Ice Announces 2009 Season Schedule

Fort Collins, CO- The Colorado Ice has released its 2009 season schedule, with the season-opening exhibition game set to kick-off on Friday, March 13th at the Budweiser Events center in Loveland, Colorado. The home schedule includes traditional rivals such as the Billings Outlaws on Saturday, March 28th; the UIF league runner-up Bloomington Extreme on Saturday, April 11th; and the Omaha Beef on Saturday, May 2nd. The Ice will also face off against new teams: the Fairbanks Grizzlies on Saturday, April 18th and Saturday, May 9th; the Alaska Wild on Saturday June 6th; and the El Paso Generals on Saturday, June 13th. All home games will have a scheduled kickoff of 7:00 pm.
Ice head coach Collins Sanders stated, "The Ice are really looking forward to the 2009 season. We will be facing new teams and new players in the new league (Indoor Football League), so we expect the level of competition to be kicked up a notch. The Ice have a solid core of returning players, as well as some really talented new players that will be joining the organization, so we will continue to remain a highly-competitive team in the running for a league championship."
