Wild and Brahmas End Weekend with 4-1 Final
March 23, 2015 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Wenatchee Wild News Release
In the last game of this series, Wenatchee and Lone Star faced off for the final time this season and certainly gave the home crowd of 3,225 fans a great showing. The Brahmas ended the match taking the 4-1 win but that has not stopped the Wild's determination. With the final series of the year next weekend, Wenatchee is looking to go out in style and that will only be done with the ambition and the drive the team possesses. The entire Wenatchee bench has proved they can go through any rough patch and come out victorious, and that is one of their key advantages for their season ending weekend.
Liam Stirtzinger started the scoring game eight minute and eighteen seconds into the first period with the lone goal of the frame. The Brahmas' first point was assisted by Chad Guderian.
Wenatchee gained their only point of the game two minutes into the second period when David Powlowski netted an unassisted goal.
Hunter Stanley started off a three goal period eight minutes and sixteen seconds into the final frame when he was able to receive the puck from AJ Vanderbeck. Roughly three minutes later, Oskar Andren put Lone Star on a 3-1 lead after he had the assistance of Sebastian Vidmar and Caleb Thompson. The last goal of the game was scored by Vidmar twelve minutes and twenty four seconds into the final period. Sebastian had a sole assist from Oskar Andren.
The Wild ended the night with 23 shots on goal and five penalties. Infractions were taken by Kyle Stephan (Hooking) (High Sticking), Mike Coyne (Tripping), and Donovan Ott (Checking From Behind (Major)) (Checking From Behind (Game Misconduct)).
Zach Quinn was in between the pipes for the Wild for the entire 60 minutes and was able to stop 14 shots on goal out of 18.
Coach Littler quoted, "Played hard. Had a bad break in the third that we did not respond to. Their best players were their best players."
Wenatchee's final series of the year will be played next weekend, March 27th-29th, against the Topeka RoadRunners. Friday's and Saturday's games will begin at 7:05 pm PST but Sunday's match will begin at 3:05 pm PST. Make sure you don't miss out on the last regular season series!
